MAIN

• If you wish to arrive in a game room simply as "observing" the action, check Start in Observing Mode. Players will see you there, but will be unable to invite you to a match until you change your status.
• If you do NOT want players to be able to watch your match, check the Do Not Allow Watching. Players will not be able to watch you. 
• If you do not want to be distracted while playing a game, you may opt to check off  Public Chat and/or Kibitz Chat. By doing so, you will not be able to see any chat in the public area and/or the Kibitz.

• If you do not wish to receive mail in GammonSite regarding tournaments, check the Tournament mails.

• Set a time for checking for new mail on the server by simply adjusting the number to your preference.

• Check your preference for Distance displayed-miles or kilometers. This will allow you to quickly and easily see how far away you are from another player.

• Display Quick Info. will display a small pop-up player info box when highlighting a player's name.

• Show Tourney Banner will add a banner with upcoming tournament information above your chat buttons.

• Change Password button allows you to easily change your password at any time. 

• Reset Rating button allows Members to reset their Elo/Experience to 1600/0. This is permitted 1 time per year/per game room.

• Rename button allows Members to change their Login name 1 time per year.

• Large Chat buttons/Small Chat buttons changes the size of the buttons above the chat area.

• An automatic message saying "away" will pop up after 10 minutes of inactivity.  You can  simply adjust the number of minutes and the message you wish to send while away, to your preference.

• Set your Language for translation purposes.

LANGUAGE

• Highlight the language you wish to set for the interface and click Change Language button.
• For additional languages, click the New Language button.
• Click the appropriate language(s) buttons you wish to communicate with players in.
• For chat translation purposes, choose your default language.

My Account

• The Personal Comments area enables others to get to know you. Be sure to check out the various colors and fonts that can be utilized here. Be creative, but please, at all times, be respectful of the feelings of others.
• The Location tab enables you to show us all exactly where you are located. Please take the time to locate yourself. Many of us enjoy the geography lessons learned here on the net.

• The Image tab enables members to display a picture. Feel free to send us your picture. We'll process it, and get it on display for you.

• The Miscellaneous tab allows you to inform  others of languages that you speak. Simply click on each appropriate button, and others will know if they'll be able to communicate with you.

LAYOUT

• Preview all choices in "set", "background", and "button". Choose from a variety of styles and colors.  Once you have chosen your preferences, simply click on Apply.  Click  HERE  to see additional Layouts available for you to download!!

PLAYERS

•  To construct your "friends" list, click on List of Friends tab, type the nickname in the box above "add player", then click on "add player". The name will be added to your list of friends. Your friends will be highlighted in a different color from others, when online. By default, an assigned chat button will be created when your friend logs on.
  
  QUICK TIP: To easily add a player to your friends list while they are logged on, simply right click on the player name and

• To ignore or avoid any player, click on List of Ignored Players tab, type the nickname in the box, then click on Add Player. The name will be added to your Ignore List, allowing you no contact with that person.   QUICK TIP: To easily add a player to your ignore list while they are logged on, simply right click on the player name and choose Add to Ignore List from the menu. 

• You may create a Mail list to easily mail a group of players. Simply click Create a new list and enter a name for the list. To add players, type the player name in the larger box.  Separate names with a semi-colon (; )

• If you wish to be notified of a friend's connection to GammonSite choose Add to Friends List from the menu, check off  Notify on Connection. When your friend logs onto GammonSite , you will receive notification that they are online.

• If you wish to create a private chat button with a friend, click on Create an Assigned Chat. By checking this box, an additional button will appear on the upper right-hand side of the dialog area, enabling you to easily converse privately with this friend whenever you are both logged on. 

• If you would like to be notified of the match results of your friends , click on Notify of Game Outcome. By checking this box, you will receive a flashing light in the private chat button area of your friends. When you click on the button, you will be informed of the results of their match.

You are able to create 20 "private chat" buttons in this area.

You also have the option, in the Player menu, to be notified on connection of players logging on with whom you have unfinished matches. To receive this notification, simply check off the Notify on Connection box.

The same option is available for notification of the arrival of a Sysop (system operator). Check off Notify on Connection in the Sysop box on the lower right-hand side of the menu if you wish to be informed of the arrival of a sysop.

LISTS

• To rearrange the order of your lists, highlight  the item you wish to relocate. Then click on the  "up" or "down" arrow to place it where you  desire. All information can easily be rearranged   here at any time.
• You may not be interested in some of the  information available in these lists. If so, you  have the option of "hiding" this information. To hide anything, simply highlight the info, click on the arrow pointing TOWARD "hidden columns". You may easily retrieve this information by highlighting the info desired, and clicking on the arrow pointing TOWARD "displayed columns".
• To further customize your screen, you also have the option of choosing a font to your liking. Once chosen, click on "change font on all lists" to apply.
• You may change all font colors by simply selecting the item you wish to change and choosing a color you wish, and click the Apply button. Choose a different color for each mode/status. Change one or change them all!

SOUNDS

• To hear all sounds, simply check off all boxes. If there are certain sounds that you may find distracting, leave those particular boxes unchecked.
• The arrows allow you to locate, on your hard drive, new sounds that you may wish to customize to your personal preferences. Additional sounds may be found here. Any wav. format is acceptable.

MESSAGES

• To set your own preset message, simply click on the New button, type your message, choose your send option, whether it is to be sent as an Action text, or normal. 

• Choose your Insert method, whether you would like it inserted at the cursor or replace the text. 

• Choose a Hot Key if you would like a fast way to insert your messages. To access all preset messages, right click on the text box and choose Preset Messages. Click the message to send. 

CONTENT CONTROL

• Click the Set Password button to activate.
• You may add words to the Filtered Word List. You may add as many as you wish, in any language you prefer. By default, the server has a list of the most common, vulgar words in the English language.
• Enter the websites which you wish to ALLOW. Only websites listed in this area will be accessible. All others will be denied access.
