Conduct Policy

Mutual Respect

We encourage everyone to treat each other with mutual respect. Do not use the chat and/or mail features to threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse others. Refrain from all expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity.

GammonSite will not tolerate disruptive online activity, such as persistent off-topic comments that incite others to violate this Conduct Policy. Our players want to chat in a positive environment and any user which disrupts the site will be handled appropriately.

Sanctions

Elo boosting is a serious and common complaint on any backgammon server. This improper conduct is not tolerated on our server.  Players caught gaining elo points unfairly will be sanctioned as follows:


Members:

  • 1st offense will result in an elo and experience reduction to 1400/0
  • 2nd offense will result in an elo and experience reduction to 1300/1000
  • 3rd offense will result in a ban of the account

Note: A player whose elo is under the value they would be after a sanction will have their elo reset to the value before the cheating occurred with a 100 elo points deduction.

Trial members :

  • IMMEDIATELY switched to GUEST account, losing all remaining Trial membership time.
  • If there is more than one Trial Membership associated with the offending account, the sanction will be imposed on all associated Trial Accounts.
  • Elo is still sanctioned the same as a member account would be, so if a player becomes member after being caught cheating his elo will be 1400/0.

Notes: Any player who is sanctioned loses the ability to reset his elo for one year.

Tournament Sanctions

  • 1st offense will result in an immediate ban from playing in any tournament and/or leagues for a period of 1 month.
  • 2nd offense will result in a permanent ban from all tournaments and leagues.

We must all do our part to uphold this Conduct Policy. GammonSite reserves the right to immediately terminate or suspend access to our services for violations of our Conduct Policy. GammonSite also reserve the right to amend the Conduct Policy at any time without notice.
