A GameSite 2000 Software

  Chat

GammonSite 's chat features have been created with simplicity in mind for all users. From the chat area, you may easily converse with friends publicly or privately. You may also launch a web cruise from the chat area.

You can easily change chat buttons to send any message at any time. When receiving a message, the chat button will blink green by default.  You may send a message as an "action" at any time while chatting.

To send an "action", be sure to begin your message with a verb or "action" word. Type in the message, then click on "Send as Action".  For example, if you'd like to message someone that you love GammonSite , type inside the dialog box "loves GammonSite ". Click on "Send as Action". Your nickname will automatically appear at the beginning of the message when you send it. The message will appear as "(Your nick) loves GammonSite ".

  PUBLIC

To send a "Public" message, click on "Public" button. Type your message in the box at the bottom of the chat screen, and click on "Send". Anything sent publicly may be viewed by all who are online.

  PERSONAL

To send a private message, right click on a player's name and click on "Send a Message". Go to "chat" area, and the player's name will have appeared in the box on the lower left-hand side of the chat screen. Type your message, and click on "Send".

You may also send a private message by clicking on the "personal chat button" of a friend. That takes you directly to a private chat screen where you may converse with that friend directly. Simply type in your message in the dialog box and click on "Send".

GammonSite INFO
If you have created personal chat buttons, friends who are logged on will have a personal button with their name on it that appears in the chat area. To speak directly to a friend, simply click on his/her button, type in your message, and click "send".

  KIBITZ

The "Kibitz" button in the chat area has been created for personal dialog between opponents and anyone who may be watching your game. When you first begin a game with an opponent, the "Kibitz" button will flash, indicating that you are playing a match. You can easily converse with your opponent in this area during the match.

Should anyone decide to watch your game, the "Kibitz" button will flash. When you click on the "Kibitz" button, you will see the name(s) of any players watching your game. By keeping the "Kibitz" area open, you and your opponent are able to chat with anyone watching your game in this private area.

To "Kibitz", type in your message, then click on "Send". It's as simple as that. Your opponent and anyone watching the match will see your message.

If you do not want players to watch your game, then simply check the box "No Watching".
If you do not want to see the Kibitz chat, then simply check the box "Ignore Kibitz".

MY GROUP

This is where you can invite players to join in a private group chat.  Messages sent in this chat area are seen only by those in the Group.  Think of it as the Kibitz chat without the game.

There are 2 ways to invite a player to chat in your Group:

1. Go to Group Chat button and click the ' + '  then type the player's name and click Okay.
2. Right click on any players name and choose the Invite to Group Chat.

You can invite as many players as you wish to your Group Chat!

To Remove a player from your Group Chat, highlight the player's name in the Group Chat and click the ' - ' button.

Web Cruising in My Group

The host of the Group Chat is the "driver" of the web cruise. Where ever the Group Host goes, those in the Group chat cruise will follow.  If you wish to share a site with the group and are not the Group Host, simply send the URL to the Group Host.
